Operations Officer - First Nations Identified

About the role

The Operations Officer plays a key role in keeping Mob4Mob running smoothly. This role combines day-to-day operations, admin support, social media, and project coordination. You will work closely with the CEO, the Board, and the team to keep things organised, share our messages online, and help deliver important community projects.

This role can be based anywhere in Queensland, with a preference for people located in Central Queensland or Brisbane for ease of connection.

This is an Identified position for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. Mob4Mob will support people with disability to apply, and we can adjust the job to suit your needs.

What you will do

Manage everyday office tasks like answering phones, emails, filing, and keeping calendars up to date.

  • Support the CEO and Board with scheduling, preparing documents, and following up actions.

  • Assist with project coordination track timelines, prepare reports, liaise with partners, and support delivery of community-led initiatives.

  • Build and maintain community connections, helping Mob4Mob strengthen relationships with mob, service providers, and partner organisations.

  • Help organise meetings, events, workshops, and gatherings booking venues, organising transport, catering, and logistics.

  • Manage social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) post updates, create simple graphics, and share community news, in line with the Mob 4 Mob style guide.

  • Keep records tidy and up to date (SharePoint or other systems).

  • Support with basic finance/admin tasks (e.g., invoices, expense tracking, Xero) training provided if needed.

  • Look for ways to improve systems so we work smarter and better for our mob.

What we are looking for (Essential skills)

Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.

  • Passion and commitment to supporting First Nations mob with disabilities.

  • Experience with administration and office coordination.

  • Good organisational and time management skills.

  • Friendly, respectful, and able to connect with people from all walks of life.

  • Able to work independently and in a small team.

  • Experience (or interest) in supporting projects e.g., event delivery, community programs, or advocacy initiatives.

  • Strong community connector able to engage with mob, Elders, and organisations in a culturally safe and respectful way.

  • Comfortable using computers (Word, Outlook, SharePoint) or willing to learn.

  • Current Disability Worker Screening (Yellow Card) or willing to get this.

  • Blue Card for Working with Children (or willing to get this).

Desirable skills (not essential)

  • Experience with bookkeeping using Xero or other accounting programs.

  • Experience running social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).

  • Experience in event planning or project support.

  • Lived experience of disability.

  • Understanding of disability, community, or support services sector.
